AT&T has just unveiled their new technology, ePTT, which stands for Enhanced Push to Talk. For over 2 decades Nextel and their "chirp" was the leader in PTT service. Well when Sprint bought Nextel and took over the service did not just slip, it went downhill in a hurry. Verizon recently introduced their PTT service and as promising as their offering was, it was not really an improvement in PTT technology but rather an alternative to Sprint.
Well all that has changed as AT&T's new platform works off the Touch Screen on a Smart Phone. This makes the operation of ePTT much more utser friendly. Another great addition is the ability for ePTT to work on a Wi-Fi signal. If you have ever had an issue with coverage because of low signal, by connecting to a Wi-Fi signal there would not be any dead zones.
